Bhutan Tour with Bumthang and Ura Valley Extension is a journey into the cultural heartland of Bhutan. Bumthang, a wide and scenic valley, consists of four major valleys Ura, Chumey, Tang and Choekhor in which the tour extends to the Ura Valley. Explore the colors of Paro; discover historical and religious monasteries, temples and shrines in Thimphu and Punakha. Hike to the Taktsang Monastery ‘Tiger’s Nest’ perched in a vertical cliff. Bumthang is the religious heartland of Bhutan where some of the oldest temples and monasteries are located. The must see landmark of the region is Jambey Lhakhang, a temple built by Tibetan king Songtsen Gompo in 659 AD. Other features of the tour include Ura Lhakhang, Chimi Lhakhang, Punakha Dzong, Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, Gangtey Gompa, Drukgyal Dzong plus many others. Overall, the tour gives full insight of the Bhutanese tradition & culture, and explores the many historical and religious landmarks of the Dragon Kingdom.
